SITUATION
VIZIO is a popular consumer electronics brand with simple-to-use products that deliver high performance at smile-inducing value. In 2017, the brand was looking to expand beyond TVs and Sound Bars into the mobile audio sector with a new speaker line called Crave—a collection of stylish, powerful portables that epitomized VIZIO’s brand promise of excellent quality at exceptional value.
The challenge was that this was a new category for the brand, where they had very little consumer awareness, and a fair amount of well-entrenched competition. VIZIO asked PARTNER to develop an engaging 360º launch campaign that could make a splash in social media and help position Crave as the go-to speakers for on-the-go music lovers.
SOLUTION
We designed a vibrantly colorful lifestyle campaign for the Crave Collection that visually celebrated the mobile audio benefits these innovative speakers added to everyday life. We chose a loud, poppy color pallet for photography that would emphasize product beauty and be noticed in social media news feeds. We built a series of simple, hyper-stylized sets within these color worlds to photograph people in fun scenarios that conveyed the expressive power of each product.
Modern typography infused with personable, playful messaging gave each speaker an appealing story that could be scaled across every channel in VIZIO’s ecosystem. Overall the Crave launch was a fun campaign for us to work on, and a delightfully distinctive departure from what other brands were doing in the speaker space.
