Built-in to every Vizio television, SmartCast offered easy, one-device access to all the popular entertainment apps. No more cords, no more dongles, now you could stream all your favorite movies, shows, and games straight from your TV.

In a year when America was sheltering in place and seeking immersive home entertainment for escape, SmartCast was the perfect platform to facilitate that experience for the 12 million households (and growing) actively subscribing to the service.

That daily audience made VIZIO more than just a TV manufacturer; now it was a robust entertainment portal offering something really special—the instant power to take you where you wanted to go, and make you feel how you wanted to feel.

To market this potent power, we created an engaging multi-channel launch campaign anchored by a strong, emotive positioning statement that confidently clarified the key differentiator between VIZIO and its competitors.

Our search for positioning started with a thorough SWOT analysis of VIZIO and its products. We found that at its core, VIZIO was a human company dedicated to delivering amazing entertainment experiences. This passionate commitment to excellence was a big reason why VIZIO’s 2021’s products were the best-reviewed in company history.

A comprehensive competitive audit, coupled with a topical analysis of consumer sentiment in the time of Covid, led to the development of We Take You There.

This simple, slightly provocative brand promise was meant to stand apart from the competition by speaking directly and emotionally to what consumers wanted from their new VIZIO products—a powerfully immersive experience with the capacity to transport them deeper into their entertainment.

In 2021, with all that was going on in the world, that was a compelling pitch that resonated on a lot of levels with American shoppers, and it helped VIZIO enjoy their greatest year of overall sales ever.

Executing the perfect escape.

Entertainment can be utterly captivating when experienced on a high-quality TV and Soundbar. VIZIO offers that kind of experience, and we wanted to capture the feeling of that immersion with engaging product videos featuring VIZIO customers so engrossed in their movies, shows, and games that they are part of the action on-screen.

Each immersion sequence incorporated actors shot on both real-world and green screen sets into spectacularly cinematic fantasy worlds that were designed entirely in 3D CG.
